Welcome aboard cadet. Congratulations on being accepted into Starship Avalon's most unique division. Your job is to provide tactical scientific data and research new forms of offensive and defensive technologies. Make no mistake: Starship Avalon is a warship, not a vessel of exploration. We most likely will not be scouting anomalies and nebula but will, more often then not, be taking on vessel debris and studying it.
Aboard Starship Avalon the science department is quite small. It's made up solely of the Chief Scientist who, depending on the size of the crew, might be a Chief, Warrant Officer, or Officer. Rank advancement simply moves you one step closer to commanding the division. Once you've achieved a rank of Chief Petty Officer or higher you might be assigned as a Bridge Science Officer which means you'll perform sensor duties as well.
Science cadets mainly spend the first two years of their training studying. Once they hit 3rd year they work along side the science staff in the lab on Deck 4.

As a Science Cadet you fall under the Science division and, as such, will be wearing a Science cadet uniform for the duration of your cadet training. Please set the following configuration for your character:
Science Cadet Uniform |

Species: Feline
Badge - Sun Yellow
Bracers -Royal Blue

Trousers - White
Vest - Black |
 |
* Local Species Cross training Armbands

The following flow chart shows who you're supposed to talk to and in what order. Ideally you want to speak to the person directly above you. You might find yourself not having anyone by the XO or CO to speak to if no one in your division is on. At this point TRY to figure it out yourself. If you absolutely can't and it's urgent send a message to the 3IC to at least show you TRIED to go through the chain.

Being a cadet you would follow the above chart you would speak to a Scientist then a Bridge Science Staff member and so on, if you had any questions.
If you ask a Scientist and they don't know their job is to ask a Bridge Science Staff Member, and so on. The information would then be filtered down the chain so everyone who didn't know would now know.
Above this chain is the divisional chain of command. You, being a cadet, should avoid even straying into this chain as "it's way above your paygrade".
