Being Shalestan, Teiara is usually always found with a modified version of the Shal’estan Mask Interface and Assault Targeting Unit, or MIATU for short.  The MIATU, the trademark mask/device worn by their race was too limited in scope for her Engineering tasks and created one to better function and interact with “Terran” starship systems.

Additional Notes:

Teiara is known for her remarkable amount of patience, a trait which has helped her succeed in the high stress field of Starship Engineering.  Despite this, her temper is equally well known, though rarely seen.

History:

Personal History:
Teiara Silverblade was born on Shal’en in the year 2358.  Her father, Ceradin Silverblade, was a Brigadier General in the Shal’estan Federal Design Bureau when the Confederacy joined the Takimora Empire, and eventually would become the Assistant Chief of the Imperial Starship Design Bureau before the outbreak of the Orion War.  She was the first in her family to enter into the Imperial Fleet Academy in 2399, and had the distinction of graduating 2nd in the Academy’s very first Advanced Starship Engineering & Mechanics school in 2404.  An only child, her dedication to her career rarely brings her into contact with other family members, despite her father being a TIFC officer.

Service History:

Acadamy History:
Teiara Silverblade entered into the Imperial Fleet Academy in 2399, entering into the ASE&M School.  Due to the required additional year of training, she graduated in 2404 Salutatorian of the ASE&M School, and was commissioned with rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.  Before attending the IFA, Teirara studied for 5 years in the Shal’estan Higher Academy of Fleet Engineering before being accepting into the Imperial Fleet Academy.

Military Service Record:
Teiara Silverblade’s first assignment out of the Imperial Fleet Academy was to Starship Deliverance as a Damage Control Specialist.  With the outbreak of the Orion War shortly after, the Deliverance served in several engagements early in the war, but was destroyed in the Battle of Teraniya.  While escaping her destructing along with most of her crewmates, she declined rejoining them on a new vessel being built, opting instead of trying to receive a transfer to Starship Avalon.  After placing her request, it was approved and Silverblade transferred to Avalon shortly before the Offensive of 2406.

Placed as Chief Duty Officer in command of Avalon’s Damage Control Response, Teiara quickly earned a reputation for  her ability to respond to crisis, and her knack for organizing and carrying out Damage Control in the heat of battle.  She was awarded the Imperial Cross after her actions in the Battle of Dakaris.  During the battle, Avalon was boarded by a group of Jem Had’ar soldiers while Avalon had been beaming its own parties to Dakaris Station.  Silverblade, along with a small band of Engineers, were captured and taken off the ship in a captured shuttle.

After arriving back on the still held Dakaris Station, Silverblade led a revolt of other held TIFC officers and was able to capture the Station’s Control Center, allowing Avalon and other vessels to fully beam on enough Marine forces to secure the station.  She was promoted to Lieutenant shortly after, and served as Avalon’s Chief Engineer’s Mate until being recently promoted to Assistant, then Chief Engineering Officer.  During their last tour, Silverblade was promoted to Lt. Commander by Admiral Lee to better lead her Engineering Department.
