This page is designed to clarify a rather sticky regulation in Starship Avalon.  To start off let's begin with what exactly is fraternization.  Simply put:

Given the high degree of time spend in deep space, and the focus on personal character development, I do allow fraternization Role Play aboard Starship Avalon. However, I do have a few suggestions I'd like you all to know, if you're RPing a "love" interest with another member of Starship Avalon.

 

1. Don't let an IC relationship spill into the OOC arena. I can't stress how many times I've seen good RPer's leave the ship over an OOC conflict with a crewmember, that conflict caused by "romantic" tensions or the like. I want to say first, it's unprofessional to allow it spill into the OOC arena, and if it does happen, try to settle the conflict between yourselves, not in a public forum.

2. Public "yiffing" or vulgar displays in public, both in the IC and OOC areas of Starship Avalon is strictly forbidden, and can result in your character being suspended or even banished from the group. Keep it in a private setting, we are a T+ Rated group and this isn't FurN.

3. Again, keep it professional. If the other character decides he/she doesn't want to RP out the love interest any longer, terminate it in a good RP fashion. Write it into your character devolpment, IC conflict but in a good way. Don't let it spoil the experience here on Avalon.

4. Above all, have fun. We like to see the emotions come out in our characters, and romance can be a large part of a person's life. Keep the RP fun, for all parties involved, and remember, benath all the furre goodness there is another human being just like you, be courteous to their feelings.

 

If we all can keep to these simple rules, then romance/fraternization can be a fun and interesting twist to the Roleplaying taking place here on Avalon. While the Admin isn't here to settle romanitic disputes should they arrive, we do offer these simple guidelines to help keep the RP fun and interesting.
